The Great Gatsby and The Crucible

The Great Gatsby and The Crucible are considered American Literature classes. Both books show how the groups of people act in diverse ways in interesting circumstances. It is argued that both books are focused on which group has played a role
, which, in a way, has shaped the American history and culture.

They
are challenged of literary because they illustrate upon a moral dilemma thatwhich humanity focuses on eternally. Such, such as the struggle between individuality and conformity in the community. In the opening of the Great Gatsby, thisthe novel shows what the borders are between the topics of reality and dreams. In taking part ofin this dream, it is something that people are willingleywilling to do. When Fitzgerald starts to talk about on howabout Gatsby’s parties, he tends to dodoes it in a deliberaltydeliberate and dreamy type way.

In an example of Gatsby’s “dream” he says, “In his blue gardens men and girls came and went like moths among the whisperings and the champagne and the stars. At high tide in the afternoon I watched his guests diving from the tower of his raft or taking the sun on the hot sand of his beach while his two motorboats split the ocean waters of the sound drawing aquaplanes over cataracts of foam.” (Fitzgerald, 2005, p.26).
