MOTHER TERESA AND HER MISSIONARIES OF CHARITY
InMother Teresa was born in a small town, called Skopje, is where Mother Teresa was born. Skopje, back then, had a population of just twenty-five thousand people. This town was part of the Albanian kingdom which was underneathunder the rule of the Ottoman Empire. Mother Teresa’s biologicalbirth name was Mary Teresa Bojaxhiu. She was born on the twenty-sixth of August in 1910. Mother Teresa was born ininto a family of business-minded townsmentownspeople. Nicholas Bojaxhiu , her father, was a building contractor with a well-known firm. His firm built the first theatre of Skopje. Dranafile Bernai , who came from nearby Venice, was the mother of Mother TeresaTeresa's mother. They had two other children. One was a female born in 1904 with the other being a male born in 1907. Mother Teresa and her family lived in a large house that had a spacious garden with a lot of fruit trees. She always said her family was a joyful one.

Mother Teresa said she was only twelve years
old when she first felt the desire to become a nun. She informed her mom, who at first was against the idea, since she believed her daughter was still totoo young to make such a decision. Gradually, she forgot about the first urge she had to be a nun. Mother Teresa always used to go to the local parish to do the activities there after school.
