The Walvis Bay Motor Club over the weekend hosted leg three and four of the national Shell V-Power Rally Championships in and around Swakopmund.

Vivo Energy Namibia with its Shell V-Power brand once again was the main sponsor for the two remaining competitions that saw coastal driver Allan Martin in his Skoda R5 winning both rallies, and with the two wins over the weekend, was crowned the 2020 Namibia National champion, winning three of the four events.

To successfully complete the Namibia national rally championship, at least four events must be held annually.

Friday's rally was over 100 km long with nine new routes of which eight were raced in daylight, and one at night.

Saturday's rally also covered a distance of more than 100 km, which incorporated eight stages.

Only three of the 19 cars competing in the rallies waswere from outside the coastal town, with the rest of the drivers all from the Walvisbay Motor Club.

The rally was tough on the cars, and Friday's rally saw only four of the 10 rally cars that started off finishing the race, while only six of the nine cars in the off roadoff-road class finished.

Saturday's race also took its toll on the cars with only six of the starting eigheight rally cars finishing and five finishing in the off roadoff-road class.
