I am honoured today to introduce an important bill to parliament that is to extend the child care benefit till 21 years old age. Young Canadians are engaged, well-informed and passionate about their futures. These benefits can help them during their post-secondary education.
It will be beneficial to the immigrated families from other countries who doesn’tdon’t have a proper high paying job and are unable to support their children for higher educationseducation. Many immigrated children have big dreams and hopes but due to expensive studies and poor family situations, they ignore the factdecide not to study. Instead they start to do different low paying jobs after high schoolsschool to support their families and to be a helping hand to their parents in running the home. By doing theproviding child care benefit till 18 years old we are just taking their hopes and dreams away from them. Plus I believe that this can also help and encourage young teenagers to start their secondary education without any worries ofabout job seeking. It will push them even more to follow their dreams..
This is not only fundamentally just. It is also an investment in our citizens that will level the playing field and benefit our society in the future. The children can benefit our country by doing thecompleting post-secondary education. I hope all parliamentarians will support this vital initiative to help young children with the child care benefits to reach their full potential and share their talents, skills and energy with us all, because when these people will succeed furthermore, we all succeed.
