The baby boomer generation and people who are older should not have to worry so much about the quality of their retirement and aging process. If anything, senior citizens should be given the most affordable health care considering their age and potential health issues. Medicare should be an automatic guarantee for people of a certain age. My dad died young, at fifty-nine years old. Considering how high the cost is to live, insurance for my dad was just too expensive at the time. My dad was diagnosed with an extremely common cancer for men just a year before he died from an aorta aneurism. Blowing through his savings to pay for his treatments was hard to watch as I knew his money was running low. His aneurism was caused by years of high blood pressure and stress that he could have treated better if he had insurance. Thousands of people in our country have lost relatives too soon due to the simple fact that our government is incapable of working together to provide affordable health insurance for all Americans. Not only are the doctor visits expensive, but the cost of prescription medications are astronomically high. Individuals who have lived fifty plus years, raised a family, college educated, honest, hard-working people should not have to die early because of the greed and corruption in our government.
