In his formulated argument on how American’sAmericans have a followership problem, David Brooks adequately conveys an impassioned tone in order to emphasize the fact that America has a followership problem rather than a leadership problem; his argument rightly goes along with what I believe in: that people are “watering down” the monuments of this country’s important figures, because they no longer understand great leaders. and their ability to demonstrate “just authority”. One of the bigger problems with the makers of these monuments is that they are not emphasizing the important attributes, namely, “moments of strength and power” of these people and are rather vague and misleading on many levels. They (being the monument engineers) completely miss the important parts of one's career and focus mainly on the smaller areas of relevance in order to downplay their wielding of authority.
