Although England has a beautiful scenery, she prefers Australia; “my love is otherwise; I love a sunburnt country” which uses possessive pronouns to convey the idea of ownership and connection.

In the fourth stanza, “the drumming of an army” uses auditoryan auditory metaphor to create a powerful scene. “Army” is majestic suggesting Australia is majestic.
