Nowadays, people are being surrounded by celebrities. We see popular persons inon TV, internet, newspapers, and sometimes even on streets. Have you ever wondered how strong of an influence all those famous people have on youths? youth?
Imagine yourself in a simple situation. Pop-starA pop-star who is also a fashion icon is caught by paparazzi somewhere on the street. PaparazziThe paparazzi takes a photo and postposts it inon the web. Then, some teenager girl sees the photo and thinks “Wow, she looks awesome”. NextThe next day, she buys a new shirt, similar to one that her beloved pop-star had in the photo. I’ve seen it myself. People, especially young people, love to look up to their favorite celebrities. Sometimes it’s good, for example when somebody popular does something nice and encourages fans to do the same. It works both ways though. Some people simply do stupid things and we don’t want teenagers to follow them. This is why I don’t really like this kind of influence. Why don’t you be yourself instead of acting like some popular person?
However, there are people I admire for how they influence teenagers, for example, Pope Francis. He shows how to be humble and love other people. TellsHe tells people to spread peace instead of makemaking war and proves everybody is equal.
In conclusion, I think all teenagers should be aware that they are being influenced by celebrities andand that they should at least try to make conscious choices.
