I have been a Marvel fan for years. However, the Black Panther movie coming into existence breathed life into the past life, the present, and the future; past generations, our generation, and the generations to come. This is an iconic moment for African Americans to witness and it entitles us to celebrate our diverse culture. Not only this, but the movie also authorizes us to privilege it. When I first saw Black Panther, it evoked that I’m a woman of color, but it also permitted me to find the superhero inside of me. There are always movies about white superheroes; however, this diverse movie is such a surreal moment for African Americans because we get to be a part of something historical and break barriers to seek diversity in our own lives, and as well on our screens tooas well.
