I’m Nafissatou Idrissou, a native of Togo. My tribe, “Kotokoli”, began from Agouloude. Sokode recorded the most noteworthy Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGMC) practiced.
It was Thursday, September 23, 1982,; a hot and sticky day of 'Gadao-Adossa-Kosso' eve in Sokode. The main Kotokoli festivals are held by different Sokodé clans of three days of festivities, from Friday to Sunday. Celebrated, celebrated the evening before. Adossa, Gadao’s function is to thank the ancestors for abundant harvests.
