I am a student in your History 167 course this semester. I really enjoy your class and have been particularly interested in our study of the Italian Renaissance. Unfortunately, I will have to miss class on Tuesday, February 15; my Uncleuncle has died and I must return to Michigan to attend his funeral. I will be disappointed to miss your lecture that day on Humanism, a major movement of that time. I wonder whether you might have time to meet with me to discuss the lecture. Because next Monday is a Holidayholiday, I assume that you will not be holding office hours. However, would you be available to meet me the next day at your office in Campbell Hall? Also, I am free to meet any afternoon after four o’clock. I look forward to hearing from you.
