Pre-processing and edge detection in digital images have a wide range of applications in various areas, ranging from the preparation of the image to the recognition, and image enhancement in all kinds of recording devices by low pass filtering and histogram equalization of brightness - photo and video cameras, scanners, sonar image,s obtained by ultrasound, X-rays, radio location, astronomical photographs, electron microscopy, etc.
