Before the Northridge earthquake, it was assumed that the steel shows ductile behavior in any situation, but brittle failures in steel moment connections showed the assumption was not correct. After vast research, brittle failure problems were solved with minimal cost with the invention of the RBS connection. However, using the RBS connection is not without any problems. Reducetion of strength, and susceptibileity to general buckling and etc. are some of the problems ofin using RBS dues to the weak section. To solve these problems by changing, the design of RBS, was changed and the ERBS connection introduced. Furthermore, Uuse beams with non-compact web could bsee a significant reduction in steel consumption but significant buckling of beams to follow. The presence of the longitudinal stiffeners is effective in deferring the local buckling of the beam web. In this study, RBS and ERBS connections with compact beams under a series of cyclic loading is compared with the use of Abaqus software. Furthermore, non-compaction effects and the eaffects of longitudinal stiffeners is studied by converting the beams webs into non-compact webs. Finally, Bby studying the behavior of these connections separately and also the in-frame behavior is specified that by combining ERBS connection with non-compact beams with longitudinal stiffeners can leads to significantly reduce the steel consumption and also increase strength andwith significant improvement in the overall behavior of the structure under cyclic loading.)
